Hi, I'm Ashley — founder, maker and the person behind every Horse and a Half order.

My Story

Horse and a Half was born from a simple frustration I know many riders share — why does practical horse gear have to be boring?

As someone who spends plenty of time in the saddle, I was constantly searching for accessories that were not only functional and durable but also reflected my own style. Time and time again, I found myself choosing between practicality and aesthetics.

So I started creating my own.

What began as a creative project quickly grew into something much bigger. Friends started asking for their own pieces, word spread, and before long Horse and a Half became a business built around a passion for adventure, horses and craftsmanship.

Today, every product is designed with the same goal: to create gear that makes life easier while adding a little personality along the way.

While horse riding will always be at the heart of the brand, Horse and a Half has grown into something more. Many of our products are just as useful on hiking trails, camping trips, dog walks and everyday adventures as they are at the stables.

The Process

Every Horse and a Half product starts with a real-life problem.

From there, materials are carefully selected for durability, performance and style. Many products feature waterproof linings, reinforced construction and quality hardware chosen to withstand regular use and the Australian outdoors.

Each item is handmade in Australia in small batches, allowing attention to detail at every stage of production.

Before a design reaches the website, it's often tested where it matters most — on the trail, around the stables, during camping trips and throughout everyday life.

The result is gear designed to work hard, look great and stand up to the adventures ahead.
